We started our company with a simple idea: toys should be fun.
But
too often, switch-adapted toys aren't. They are designed to
do one thing. The child presses a button, the toy does its thing. Cause
and effect. Great for some children, but what about kids who grasp
cause and effect? Kids learn by playing, and they deserve
multi-dimensional toys.
Now they can have
them. We modified the My First RC Ford Truck for our son in early 2011,
and he loved it. We like remote-controlled toys in general because they
are designed to be fun when accessed with switches, so a switch-adapted
RC toy is just as much fun as the unadapted one.
We still carry that truck, along with a bunch more RC toys.
Controlling multi-switch toys requires, well, multiple switches. That can get tricky as well, but our Switchamajig Controller lets the iPad become as many switches as you need in one handy package.
We'd love
to hear from you! Drop us an email with any questions you have about
switch adapting toys (or anything else.) We also encourage you to join
our mailing list to be kept up-to-date on our latest offerings (and of
course we won't sell your information to spammers.)
If
you want to switch-modify your own toys (which will save you money if
you're comfortable doing it,) there are several tutorials on YouTube.
Check out our Tips For Adapted Toys for a few things we've learned along
the way.
